Research Without Limits

Quantitative studies, video interviews, kiosk mode, and more. No restriction on responses so you can focus on the research.

Research

No Limits. No Surprises.

Every plan includes unlimited projects, studies, blocks, and video studies. No response restrictions, no hidden charges.

Study Types

Choose the right methodology for your research question. Each type is configured differently, presents differently to participants, and delivers different insights.

Quantitative

Quantitative Studies

Structured research using configurable blocks: surveys, card sorts, tree tests, and more.

Why Use This

Measure attitudes, test information architecture, validate design decisions, and gather statistically meaningful data at scale.

How You Configure

Add and reorder blocks in the study designer. Set up Flow blocks to route participants conditionally. Configure screening, logic, and study settings.

What Participants See

A guided study flow. Participants joining via an invite link go straight in without logging in. Panel participants authenticate via email and one-time code so responses are linked and rewards can be allocated. Flow logic gives you control over what each participant sees.

Insights You Get

  • Structured response data
  • Rating distributions and aggregates
  • Card sort and tree test analytics
  • Rank and preference comparisons

Block Categories: add, reorder, and configure

Every study is automatically bookended with a Welcome block and a Thank you block for participant information and closing remarks.

Structure

  • Instruction
  • Image
  • New page
  • Confirmation
  • Pause

Survey

  • Question (open text, date, numeric)
  • Rating scales (numeric, star, sentiment)
  • Grid rating
  • Selection (single or multiple choice)

Information Architecture

  • First glance (timed / first click)
  • Card sort (open, closed, hybrid)
  • Tree test (created or imported)

Prioritisation

  • Rank sort (position or scored)
  • Image sort
  • Preference (text, image, media)

Logic-Based Flow: control what each participant sees

Jump

Skip to a specific position in the study. Loop back or skip ahead.

Fifty-Fifty

Alternate participants between Path A and Path B in turn. A/B testing made simple.

Switch

Route down Path A, Path B, or skip based on a participant's response.

Participant Access

Participants can join a study via a direct link, or if sourced from a panel they log in with their email and a one-time code so responses are linked to the right participant and rewards can be allocated to their wallet after completion. If a study needs more participants, automatic trickle invites draw from your My Panels and the Squid Panel with demographic balancing to target the best mix.

Video

Moderated Video Studies

Live interviews and usability sessions on our custom-built video platform.

Custom Video Platform

Why Use This

Deep qualitative research where follow-up questions matter. Usability testing, exploratory interviews, and moderated sessions with real-time observation.

How You Configure

  • Timeslot scheduler: participants self-book
  • Script writer: tasks, resources, scenarios, discussion prompts
  • Participant filtering and screening
  • Invite up to 5 hidden observers

What Participants See

A live video call with the moderator. Resources shared on screen via click-to-share. No separate app to install; everything runs in-browser.

Insights You Get

  • Session video recordings
  • Automatic transcripts
  • Time-marked notes (moderator + observers)
  • Observer chat log

During the Session

The moderator drives the session with click-driven script prompts. Up to 5 hidden observers watch and take time-marked notes. Moderator and observers communicate via private message without the participant seeing. Both moderator and observer notes are available post-session alongside the video and transcript.

Kiosk

Kiosk Studies

In-person research via tablet or big screen. Two delivery modes.

Why Use This

Collect responses in physical settings: trade shows, labs, retail, schools, conferences. High-volume data capture from people in the moment.

Kiosk Delivery

Study loops on a tablet. Participants walk up, complete question, rating, and selection blocks, then the device resets for the next person.

Conference Delivery

Questions and results displayed on a big screen. Audience members scan a QR code to respond on their own device in real time.

Insights You Get

  • Aggregated response data
  • Live conference results
  • High-volume quantitative data
  • Responses can be included in Insight Stories

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about running research with Insight Squid.

Insight Squid supports quantitative studies (with Structure, Survey, Information Architecture, and Prioritisation blocks), moderated video interviews (with an unmoderated option coming soon), and kiosk studies (kiosk delivery or conference delivery).

No. The single plan includes unlimited projects, unlimited studies, unlimited blocks, and unlimited video studies. Fair usage policy applies. The only additional costs are participant rewards (pre-funded before the study) and external panel sourcing (estimated and paid before the study starts).

Kiosk mode offers two delivery options. Kiosk Delivery runs the study on a loop on a tablet: participants walk up, complete question/rating/selection blocks, and the device resets automatically. Conference Delivery shows questions or results on a big screen, with audience members scanning a QR code to respond on their own device.

The study builder includes four categories of blocks. Structure: welcome, thank you, instruction, image, new page, confirmation, pause and flow control. Survey: question (open text, date, numeric), rating (numeric, star, sentiment), grid rating, selection (single or multiple choice). Information Architecture: first glance (timed or first click), card sort (open, closed, hybrid), tree test (created or imported). Prioritisation: rank sort (position or scored), image sort, preference (text, image, or media).
